Translation Canon Tony Dickinson
“Get up and walk!”
The breath of God has raised him: Jesus, the Christ, stands there upright, in front of you.
Freed from the chains of death. His words transcend time,
his acts traverse space.
the old world has gone,
the new world is born.
Light descends on humanity as if in fine drops of rain
and clothes it with hope.
“No longer seek among the dead for the one who is living!
No longer seek for him nailed to a cross”.
Death is conquered.
Life rises and sings!
“Get up and walk!”
Cast aside the cloak of darkness,
of the heaviness of days.
He is calling you!
The future opens up to you.
You will put your words to the unsayable.
“Get up and walk!”
